These techniques use a series of gentle thumb and fingers movements on the muscles and connective tissues along the whole body. There is no manipulation or adjustment of hard tissue and the treatment is very gentle, subtle and relaxing. Aromatherapists, Chiropractors, Homoeopaths, Osteopaths, Physiotherapists, Sport Injury Therapists are among some practitioners of complementary medicine, alternative healing and lay people use these styles due to their simplicity of use, effectively and as a gentle ‘hands on’ therapy. These techniques address many diverse conditions as it is safe and effective for people of all ages. Ideal for sports injuries, R.S.I., frozen shoulder, back pain, tennis elbow and respiratory symptoms. Also conditions like M.E., hay-fever, migraine and asthma have responded favourably. The only limitation to both techniques is the user’s imagination. There is no surprise that many also refer to these approaches as ‘The healing power of touch.’ We understand there could be differences between these styles, perhaps significant or semantic and if you the reader are a therapist of both we would appreciate you constructive input.
